RAM chips, African trade beads, Hungarian crystal, base metal, carved bone, jet, freshwater pearls and art glitter -  21"h x 4"w.

Artist Statement:
What you can't see in the photo is the rope of beads that descends into the bottle.  On the rope are three skeletal figures carved from bone.  They dangle above the glittering flames and it's hard to be sure if they're climbing up or being lowered down.  The move to bottles was my first departure from artwork that is meant to hang flat on walls.

I've always loved the shapes and colors of certain glass bottles, and their disposable nature, despite their durability and permanence, has always disturbed me. My bottle and jar pieces are gestures towards artistic recycling.
